Looking for the next fantasy romance to add to your “to be read” (TBR) list? May I make a suggestion? The Aerytol Saga by Erin P.T. Canning is an incomplete series but the first three books are so good that I am looking forward to book 4! The author builds a fantastical world, blending new and old traditions with a unique spin.
So why did I like this series so much and why am I waiting impatiently for the next book?
5 Reasons to Love The Aerytol Saga by Erin P.T. Canning:
1. Unique Backstory of the Main Female Character
Adaline is passionate about her career and has a well-developed backstory, which is very easy to miss as an author. Without a strong backstory, characters often lack those defining traits that draw readers to them and the storyline can fall flat. That is definitely not an issue when it comes to the Aerytol Saga. Adaline’s backstory is continuously explored in the pages of each book, adding more depth to her character and endearing readers to her.
2. Master World Building
The world-building in the Aerytol Saga is well done, with the physical descriptions of the characters’ surroundings helping to build a believable land. Those physical descriptions are vital when building another world because authors need to be able to transplant the reader into that same space they’ve created for their characters.
3. Loveable Side Characters
As I embarked on my writing journey, I noticed that helping to ensure the side characters aren’t flat is important and difficult to do. The side characters in the Aerytol Saga are unique and have their own stories outside of their supporting role, making them more realistic and keeping them from being considered “flat”, or without dimension. Not only are the side characters believable, but lovable to boot!
4. That Main Male Character Though
Enough said! Fans of the “fated mates” trope will love the push and pull that the MMC and FMC experience in book 1. Not only is he strong and wonderful, but the protective and supportive streaks in his personality are so engrained that separating those character traits from the character himself would be impossible.
5. Strong & Sassy & Pretty Kick-assy
Adaline is not only a well-developed main character, with her background unique and thought out, but as she comes into her own, we discover that she is also pretty awesome at shouldering responsibilities and attacking problems with a scholar’s mind and a warrior’s willingness to kick-butt when needed. I look forward to seeing how that attitude serves her as she continues on her journey.
